BIOGRAPHY
A Catholic and a lifelong liturgical musician, Megan Coiley currently serves as the director of music ministry for two Protestant congregations. She is passionate about guiding congregations and choirs as they sing together, both developing their experience of worshipful community and helping them sing a new song to the Lord. Megan specializes in sound, space, and spirituality in worship, and her work explores the use of sound to shape theological understanding. With close friend and collaborator Slats Toole, she has composed several pieces for liturgical use and is working toward publication.

Megan enjoys a multi-faceted career as a conductor, pianist, and mezzo-soprano. A recent graduate of Westminster Choir College (BM in sacred music), Megan is an experienced choral singer who has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and other leading orchestras. Well-versed in multiple styles of Mexican traditional and folk music, she was a regular member of Mariachi Flor de Toloache for three seasons and a frequent guest of Mexico Beyond Mariachi. She is a dedicated advocate of new music and enjoys performing and teaching works by living composers.

Megan’s primary teachers include Kendall Feeney/Edna Golandsky (piano), Amanda Quist (conducting), Margaret Cusack (voice), and Noel Werner/Sue Ellen Page/Steve Pilkington (sacred music).
When she is not making music, Megan enjoys making a myriad of other things, among which include craft beverages, jewelry, gluten-free and vegan food, and large messes. She resides in Ewing, NJ, with her partner and their cat, Regina Caeli.
